Job Description
Almac Group is currently seeking a Software Developer, Support for our Clinical Technologies Division. The Software Developer, Support is responsible to provide support, maintain and enhance Almac applications created to develop software for the pharmaceutical industry.
We are looking for innovative and passionate people who want to work on software that has a clear and real-world impact. ALMAC is looking to help advance human health and streamline how clinical trials are executed for our clients.
While this position is specifically for application support, the team is working towards a more well-rounded skill set to bring more flexibility and opportunity across the larger team. Innovation is strong desired and there is a clear path to bring small and larger project idea to fruition.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Provide support for software used for client studies and drive issues of varying complexity to resolution for both internal and external customers.
- Regularly monitors investigation case queue for new issues and service requests.
- Prioritize and re-prioritize work load based on urgency of submitted issues and service requests.
- Communicates status of investigation regularly.
- Escalates roadblocks and high priority issues timely and appropriately.
- Provides workaround where possible while investigating the issue.
- Learns the Almac product feature-set and provide needed support, conducting root cause analysis.
- Collaborate with other groups, other departments to provide high quality support and analysis for applications.
- Works closely with Almac Infrastructure team regarding changes impacting supported software, patching cycles etc.
- Monitors alerting across systems and applications responding appropriately based on severity and impact.
- Suggest and/or create automation and/or efficiencies to streamline the cost of support.
- Identifies knowledge gaps and authors Knowledge Base Articles to fill those gaps.
- Provide on call support and backup coverage as needed.
- Ensures that all departmental SOPs and WIs are followed as needed.
Complete assigned projects
- Participate in Disaster Recovery project / exercises as needed.
- Participate and/or lead projects to completion as needed by the management team.
- Drive communication by taking ownership of collaboration activities necessary to move the project forward.
- Ensure all project work is documented timely and accurately to a detailed level that will provide ability for others to reference when needed. This should include all impacts such as software, hardware, network and client.
- Fully understand the business needs and provide necessary analysis for decision making within teams, managing to the scope.
- Participates in change control activities when required.
Qualifications:
Required Experience / Education:
- Bachelor's degree in related technical field
- Minimum 2 years of experience supporting applications utilizing Microsoft SQL Server.
- Minimum 2 years of experience with Windows Server diagnostic tools.
- Minimum 2 years of experience writing PowerShell scripts.
- Minimum 2 years of experience enterprise level source code control.
- Minimum 2 years of experience supporting applications utilizing ASP.net MVC and C#.
- Minimum 2 years of experience conducting root cause analysis.
- Microsoft SQL Server, Remote Desktop
- Strong background in analyzing and debugging software solutions, including automations and optimizations
Preferred Experience / Education:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical/analytical discipline, such as Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Information Technology, and/or Mathematics
- Minimum 3 years of experience supporting applications utilizing Microsoft SQL Server.
- Minimum 3 years of experience with Windows Server diagnostic tools.
- Minimum 3 years of experience writing PowerShell scripts.
- Minimum 3 years of experience supporting applications utilizing ASP.net MVC and C#, Object Oriented Design [OOD] principles and design patterns, SOLID Principles.
- Familiarity with various transmission methods (Web Services, FTP, FTPs, SSH)
- Experience using/supporting IBM ClearCase and ClearQuest
- Linux/Unix
- Experience with Microsoft OS and IT infrastructure components
- C#, .NET 4.5 or higher, Visual Studio2013 or higher, ASP.NET MVC, Entity Framework, LINQ, Unit Testing
- Understanding of Object Oriented Design [OOD] principles and design patterns
- Experience with proactive/real-time telemetry, monitoring, logging and alerting of software applications
- Experience and familiarity with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery [CI/CD] techniques and continuous delivery models
- NService Bus
- Microsoft Azure Dev Ops (ADOS)
- Experience in an FDA regulated environment and knowledge of clinical trial processes
