Interns will work side-by-side with raSmith project managers, engineers and technicians on projects designed to teach, stretch and shape your thinking. Participants are encouraged to hone their problem-solving abilities and develop technical skills through challenging project assignments.


We currently have an opening for an Intern for Summer 2024 at our Appleton, WI office. We are looking for someone with an interest in gaining practical engineering experience through on-the-job training.


Transportation Intern - Primary Responsibilities:

On any given day our intern students could be working on the following:

  • Quantity takeoffs
  • Estimating
  • Exhibit preparation
  • Civil 3D tasks
  • Attendance at public meetings
  • Document preparation
  • Assisting the project engineers

raSmith Interns receive extensive training and mentorship throughout their work terms, and they are highly regarded and sought after upon graduation.

Requirements

Transportation Intern - Skills and Requirements:

Qualified Students must meet the following requirements:

  • Have completed the Freshman Year of a 4 year Bachelor of Science Program in Civil Engineering at an accredited college or university
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Able to solve basic engineering problems; good decision-making skills
  • Skilled at accurately scoping out length and difficulty of tasks and projects
  • Have excellent communication, detail orientation, interpersonal skills, and be a team player
