Job Description

Anatomic Path Support Representative I - Portland, OR - Monday-Friday 9:00 AM-5:30 PM (Training may be on an earlier schedule)

Position provides general support for the Anatomic Pathology function.


  • Filing and retrieval of slides as requested
  • Electronic recording of slides into Laboratory Information System (LIS)
  • Mail handling and distribution within the department
  • Storage of laboratory records according to established record management protocol
  • May load/unload slides onto the Focal Point instrument
  • Print/Collate History Match
  • Manage process for requesting recuts, special stains and immunohistochemistry stains
  • May participate in QA/QC support activities
  • May contact clients to request additional information
  • May handle incoming calls, responding in a professional and timely manner
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Required WorkExperience:

1-yearrelated experience preferred

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • The normal performance of duties may require lifting and carrying objects: Objects 1 to 10 pounds are lifted and carried frequently; objects 11 to 25 pounds are lifted and carried occasionally; objects 36 to 50 pounds are seldom lifted or carried and objects over 50 pounds are not to be lifted or carried without assistance.
  • Ability to stand and work at the bench for long periods of time.
  • Frequent walking and/orstanding.
  • May be required to use a wide variety of manual tools and laboratory instruments and apparatuses all of whichdemand significant manual dexterity

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of basic computer functions
  • Quest LIS knowledge is desirable

Skills:

  • Data Entry skills
  • Good clerical, organizational, phone and communication skills


EDUCATION
High School Diploma or Equivalent(Required)
