Who We Are Looking For:

Have you ever wished to combine your love for the outdoors with your work? Do you have a knack for making guests feel welcome and cared for? If so, you might be the perfect fit for our team. We're hiring Parks Attendants for the summer of 2024 to help us nurture the beauty and tranquility of our parks located in the Estacada area, Madras area, and the iconic Timothy Lake in Mt. Hood National Forest.

The 2 types of Park Attendant roles are available ! Provide camp hosting , maintenance or Education. These positions typically start in early May and run through September. The range is $20.95- $22.04 per hour and will be determined based on your experience and qualifications. There is also no fee for your site and the range of amenities varies per location.

Responsibilities:

Camp Hosting:

  • Visitor Information and guidance
  • Customer Service - guest registration, responding to questions on site, supports emergency responders as needed
  • Fee Collections
  • Light janitorial and maintenance work
  • PGE Park rule enforcement

Maintenance:

  • Turf Maintenance - Mowing, trimming and edging grass areas
  • Facility Maintenance - Garbage and litter removal, restroom cleaning, small repairs and pressure washing
  • Facility Repair - Minor repair of buildings, fences, kiosks, signs and other assigned duties

I & E

  • Prepare and present park-themed interpretive programs and family-friendly, hands-on educational opportunities.
  • Support various parks by organizing special events and providing self-guided educational opportunities.
  • Provide visitor services such as explaining rules, answering questions, and providing information about the parks and surrounding areas.
  • Initiate outreach to agencies and organizations to schedule guest speakers for evening programs, providing support or materials as needed.
  • Develop and distribute marketing for park educational opportunities; contribute interpretive and informational content for social media, website and/or newsletters.
  • Complete other tasks as assigned-may include assisting with park operations, administrative support, data collection and/or minor maintenance tasks. Knowledge of Oregon natural, cultural and recreational resources and/or hydropower desirable."

Education/Experience/Certifications:

Education

Requires high school diploma or successful completion of General Education Development (GED) test.

Experience

Typically, two or fewer years of experience in parks, hospitality, resource management or another related field.

Valid Driver's License required.

Schedule/Attendance
